The remains of Ademola Seriki, the late Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain who died on Thursday, December 15th 2022, in Madrid, have been laid to rest at the Ikoyi Vaults and Gardens in Lagos.

The burial which held yesterday in Lagos according to Islamic rites, saw some top government officials led by the Presidential candidate of the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state, and former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke all in attendance.

Prayers were held for the repose of the soul of the former Minister of State for Defence at his residence, 1b, Jalupon Close, Off Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere, Lagos.

The late Ademola Seriki, who held the traditional title of Otun Aare of Lagos was born on Lagos Island on 30 November 1959.
Until his death, he was the Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain with concurrent accreditation as a Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the United Nations World Tourism Organisation.

Top government officials who attended the funeral programme were, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, and businessman Wale Babalakin, SAN, among numerous others.
