The monarch and the prime minister will begin their relationship on a common footing.
The two will be looking to work together, and since Prime Minister Liz Truss has already been confirmed as the new British Prime Minister by Queen Elizabeth two days before her death, the King will be looking to complete other functions not carried out by his mother the Queen before her death.
Prime Minister Liz Truss had earlier released a statement on her official social media handle condoling the King and the Royal family on the death of the Queen.
