Metallica frontman James Hetfield and wife Francesca Hetfield are going their separate ways after 25 years of being together as husband and wife, TMZ reports.
The tabloid reported that sources close to the Metallica frontman James Hetfield and wife revealed that James filed divorce documents against Francesca Hetfield in Colorado earlier this year. Surprisingly, the filing was never reported, and the couple kept it out of the spotlight.
TMZ also reported that sources revealed that the Hetfield and wife are still in touch, as they have kids together.
James and Francesca met in 1992, and got hitched in 1997. They have two daughters and a son together. James credited Francesca over the years for helping him through tough times, including his anger management issues.
In one interview, James said Francesca once threatened to take the kids out of the house if he couldn’t get his temper in check.
Francesca was Hetfield’s first marriage … she’d also join him on tour at times, visiting spots around the world.
