The Delta State Police Command Monday, confirmed that one person killed and others injured and escaped with gunshot wounds, after hoodlums clashed with the Police in the Illah area of the state.
According to the statement released on Monday 1st August 2022, by Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, stated that one person was killed after Policemen attached to the ILLAH division while on stop and search duty were attacked by some hoodlums.
He stated that the hoodlums were faced with stiff resistance from the policemen, and one of them was neutralized while others escaped with gunshot injuries. One AK47 rifle was recovered.
No further details were given as to the other hoodlums who escaped with gunshot wounds as at the time of this report.
