Many people are said to have been trapped after a 5-storey building collapsed in Oba, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State on Thursday.
According to the report by Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS), the five-storey building at the heart of Oba, close to the palace of the former traditional ruler of the town collapsed, trapping a yet to be identified number of persons, underneath.
Information is still sketchy but sources say villagers are ill-equipped to embark on a serious rescue mission, especially as night has fallen.
Bystanders are making frantic efforts to contact the emergency relief agency, Police and other volunteer forces, as many people are feared buried alive under the rubbles, the report added.
