At least one person is said to have been killed and another three injured after a gunman reportedly opened fire on an outdoor party in Guadeloupe on Thursday, AFP reports.
According to the report by AFP, the shooting at an outdoor party in Guadeloupe that left one dead was confirmed by local media on Thursday.
The drama was tied Thursday noon in the town of Baie-Mauhault, said Patrick Desjardins, the public prosecutor of Pointe-à-Pitre. At least three other people were injured by the gunfire or by the panic that followed the shooting, the report said.
The party, which had lasted since the evening before, brought together, until late in the morning, several hundred people, quickly dispersed after the shooting.
Rescuers were unable to revive the victim, a young man in his thirties who was known “unfavorably by the police”. The investigation entrusted to the research section of the gendarmerie will “also determine whether the shots were premeditated”, indicated Patrick Desjardins.
The investigators have already launched a call for witnesses because, still according to the same source, “given the number of participants in the party, there must have been people who attended the scene”.
