The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have reported and confirmed a total of 1356 new COVID-19 cases of the coronavirus and 2 deaths in the country.
According to the daily report by the health agency, the 1356 new COVID-19 cases reported on Friday 24th December 2021, now put the total number of confirmed cases since the inception of the pandemic to 234,709 confirmed cases and 212,237 as of the number of discharged cases.
The death toll also stands at 2,993, all recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The 1356 new cases were reported from 12 states and the distribution of these cases across these states and the federal capital territory, shows the following:
