Anambra State Governor’s Wife Ebelechukwu Obiano has commissioned two toilet projects at Eke Market, Owerre-Ezukala and Afor Enugwu-Umuonyia, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) reports.

According to the report, Anambra state Governor’s Wife Ebelechukwu Obiano, who is also the founder of the charity organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE commissioned the project which was powered by the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP.

The toilet projects are among the twenty-two built so far by CAFE across rural markets in Anambra State and donated for free.

The toilets, which come with steady running water and a standby generator set, is expected to provide decent enclosure for traders, especially the market women, and promote hygiene and cleanliness.

Speaking at each of the markets, Anambra state Governor’s Wife Ebelechukwu Obiano, represented by the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Renewal, Architect Mike Okonkwo, who thanked the people for voting for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in November sixth governorship election, said that even though her husband’s tenure is officially winding down in March next year, she is still committed to continuing working with CAFE post-politics.

The governor’s wife also asked those that would be taking care of the projects to ensure that they are properly and constantly maintained.

She also noted that her husband would leave the office with his shoulders high, having laid a strong foundation for successful leadership in his more than seven years in power.
