Alexia Putellas who was one of five Barcelona players nominated after their first Champions League triumph for the Ballon d’Or, has taken home the award for the best female player.
Alexia Putellas scored as she captained Barca to a 4-0 win over Chelsea in Gothenburg.
She ended the season as the highest-scoring midfielder in Europe with 26 goals in all competitions and was named Uefa’s Women’s Player of the Year, as well as a midfielder of the year.
