Ateke Tom, a former leader of a Niger Delta militant group, crowned King, is today celebrating his 4th year anniversary as the Amanyanabo of Okochiri kingdom in Wakirike, Rivers state.
Ateke Tom who is the traditional ruler and the first Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom, and also an influential stakeholder in the Niger Delta struggle, taking to his official social media handle on Thursday 25th November 2021, thanked God for witnessing another year on the throne, saying:
“Today marks my 4th year on the sacred throne of my forebearers as King of the Ancient Okochiri Kingdom where my fathers’ first settled.
I’m grateful to God who in his mercy has been my guide for giving me this rare privilege to lead my people as King in the land of our great ancestors,” he said.
Ateke Tom who was crowned the Amanyanabo of Okochiri Kingdom in Okrika Local government area of Rivers State in 2017, in marking the day, also stated that this “…year’s anniversary is very remarkable as we’ll officially dedicate Sekuro Palace to God Almighty tomorrow the 26th of November 2021.
I count it all Joy with heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty, for all these would never have been possible without his grace, protection, wisdom and provision to be what he destined me to be today before i was conceived by my mother.
