The House of Reps member representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iwajowa Federal constituency of Oyo state, Honourable Shina Peller has commiserated with families of eighteen people that lost their lives in a fatal road accident that occurred along Moniya-Iseyin road on Saturday.
Hon. Shina Peller while expressing sadness over the loss, urged all to drive carefully always, and within the accepted speed limit. He also added that it is better to be late than to be late.
Taking to his official social media handle on Sunday 10th October 2021, he posted a photo from the accident scene as reported by a news report, and in a long post, said:
“My condolences to the family and loved ones of the victims of the unfortunate road accident that occurred in Iseyin (Moniya-Iseyin Highway) yesterday Saturday.
Regrettably, the report has it that the accident was caused by reckless driving by one of the commercial vehicles that collided at a very sharp bend. I am using this opportunity to urge all to drive carefully always, and within the accepted speed limit. It is better to be late than be the late!
I pray that God overlooks the deceased’s shortcomings and gives their family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. Amen,” he added.
The Moniya-Iseyin Accident On Saturday:
On Saturday evening, about 18 passengers and the drivers of two Mazda buses with full passengers died immediately after a head-on-collision at the kilometre 2 cattle market at Iseyin.
Their bodies were taken to FADOK hospital, close to Iseyin Divisional Police Headquarters, Okutapemo, where people having thronged since the incident happened to identify the victims.
