The Akwa Ibom State Government has threatened to shut down Hotels and other entertainment centres linked to cult groups and criminal activities.
According to the statement released and signed on Thursday 15th July 2021, by the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong the move was informed by credible intelligence that hotel owners and proprietors of entertainment centres have given their premises to cult groups and other criminal gangs to use as their base.
Comrade Ini Ememobong in his statement, also stated that the Akwa Ibom State’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and security agencies have set up a monitoring team to enforce this order.
He also urged the public, especially proprietors of hotels and places of entertainment to take note and act accordingly.
