Reno Omokri, an ex-aide to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and a self-proclaimed Buhari tormentor, is seeking the views of Nigerians whether or not to take his anti-Buhari protest to Paris France, the venue of the African Finance Summit, which President Muhammadu Buhari is attending.

Reno Omokri who recently staged an anti-Buhari protest in London, during the President’s medical trip there, said on Monday 17th May 2021, on his official Twitter handle, that some ‘prominent Nigerians’ have asked him to sympathise with Buhari and not protest in Paris. But he is seeking the opinions of Nigerians before he makes up his mind on what to do.

He tweeted saying:

“Dear citizens of Nigeria, Some prominent Nigerians ask me to sympathise with General Muhammadu Buhari and allow him do whatever he went to Paris to do. I told them I will leave the choice to Nigerians.

Should we #HarassBuhariOutofParis or should we leave him?” he asked.

The tweet by Reno Omokri a.k.a Buhari tormentor is coming a day after the President left Abuja for France to join other African leaders for the African Finance Summit in Paris.

The summit which will focus on reviewing the African economy following shocks from the coronavirus pandemic and getting relief, especially from the increased debt burden on countries, would see world leaders in attendance.

Omokri reacting to the President attending the meeting, said the president should return to the country to tackle the worsening security challenges.

‘Buhari Is Needed in Nigeria, Not France’, he said “Since the Africa-France Summit was postponed, due to COVID-19, and General Buhari was informed of it, why did he still travel to Paris? This is the question Nigerians want to be answered.

“I remind Buhari that Nigeria is drifting, and if he does not drift back to Abuja to halt the drift, I may be forced to drift to Paris to #HarassBuhariOutofParis.”

“It is clear that this is not the time for Buhari to be sneaking into Paris or London to see his doctors.

“If he is too ill to continue in office, then he should resign and let capable hands move Nigeria forward,” he added.

Nigerians, especially his followers on social media have been reacting to his call, and the majority of them are in support of him going to Paris, France to protest against the President.
