Ex-Imo Governor, Emeka Ihedioha is celebrating his 56th birthday today, as he shares some throwback photos to mark the special day.
The Ex-Imo Governor who is also a former Deputy Speaker of the Nigeria House of Representatives, sharing the photos on his official social media handle, captioned the photos with a short prayer thanking God for yet another birthday celebration. He said:
“Dear Lord,
It is by your grace and mercies that I have come this far. My whole life is in the hollow of thy Hands. For this gift of a new year, I give it all to you Lord. Thank you, Lord,” he said.
Emeka Ihedioha who is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was sacked by the Supreme Court on Tuesday 13th January 2020, as the Governor of Imo State, as the court declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the 2019 Imo State Governorship election.
The Supreme Court in their judgementat the time, declared that Senator Hope Uzodinma be sworn in immediately, while Hon Emeka Ihedioha be removed as the Governor.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun and the other six Justices were unanimous that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was wrong to have excluded some votes from the scores of Hope Uzodinma when he actually scored the highest votes in the election.
Imo State Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer Mr. Francis Chukwuemeka Otonta had declared Emeka Ihedioha as the winner with 273,404 votes, beating others for the Governorhsip seat.
