Ex-First Lady Michelle Obama, has asked her friends Harry and Meghan to “forgive” the British royal family, a few days after their explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey.
She is asking the former Duke and Duchess of Sussex to ‘forgive’, even though the British Royal family have released statements denying the allegations raised in the interview.
A few days after their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, where some allegations were made, especially the alleged racist comment on Archie’s skin colour, the Buckingham Palace released a statement on Queen Elizabeth II’s behalf where they said the “whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.”
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning,” the statement added. “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately,” the statement had said.
Ex-First Lady Michelle Obama who had earlier praised the move by Prince Harry and Meghan to tell their truth, where they exposed the British Monarchy and British Press, while speaking further on the issue, in a piece published on Monday by Access Hollywood, said she prays there is ‘forgiveness’ from all that has been revealed to the world.
“My hope is that, when I think about what they’re going through, I think about the importance of family and I just pray that there is forgiveness and there is clarity and love and resolve at some point in time,”
“Because there’s nothing more important than family” she added.
Meghan also claimed in her interview with Oprah that she had been driven to suicidal thoughts during her time in the royal family.
Ex-First Lady Michelle Obama continued by praising her own family, especially her husband Barack Obama for his relationship with their daughters, Malia and Sasha.
“First of all, he loves his daughters with all of his heart. He wants nothing but the best for them. But more importantly, he knows how smart and capable they are as young women and he treats them as equals,” she said.
“They still have discipline and rules and respect, but he encourages them in everything they do. And that’s all you want from a dad.
“Not just for a girl dad, but any dad who is involved and engaged and shows love and stability and consistency. That’s the kind of dad he is,” she added.
The likes of Beyoncé, Serena Williams, and others, while reacting to the Oprah Interview, all spoke in favour of Meghan and Prince Harry.
