Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has expressed sadness over the death of Alhaji Salihu Tanko, who until his death, was the Emir of Kagara.
Atiku Abubakar, taking to his official social media handle on Tuesday 2nd March 2021, posted a photo of the Emir of Kagara, where he expressed his deepest condolences to the family, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and the people and Government of Niger state, over the demise of the Emir.
He said:
“I am saddened at the tragedy in Kagara not long after the kidnap and eventual release of students and staff of Government Science College. Emir of Kagara, Alhaji Salihu Tanko, served his people diligently and selflessly. He will be sorely missed.
My deepest condolences to his family, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers and the people and government of Niger State. May Allah forgives his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus,” Atiku added.
The Emir died at the IBB specialist hospital in Minna, the state capital, after a protracted illness.
