Chelsea beat Tottenham to go 6th on the English Premier League table, as the club new manager, Thomas Tuchel wins his first London derby game, which was also Jose Mourinho’s third straight defeats.

The only goal from the game came from Jorginho who netted from the spot after Chelsea were awarded a first-half penalty after Eric Dier upended Timo Werner, to give the Chelsea the win.

Chelsea dominated the game from the start and could have scored more if they had been more clinical in front of goal.

Tuchel has now enjoyed two wins and a draw, without conceding a goal, since replacing the sacked Frank Lampard, and while the animated German occasionally displayed signs of frustration in his technical area, this was ultimately a satisfying outcome.

Jose Mourinho and his team were punished for a desperately negative gameplan which, shorn of the main marksman Harry Kane, barely gave Chelsea an anxious moment until Carlos Vinicius headed Serge Aurier’s cross wide at the far post when unmarked late on.

The win means, Thomas Tuchel has become the first Chelsea manager to keep clean sheets in each of his first three matches at the club since José Mourinho did so back in August 2004.

Only Petr Cech has reached 10 Premier League clean sheets for Chelsea faster than Edouard Mendy.
