President Muhammadu Buhari has finally given in to pressure from Nigerians, as he announced the appointment of new Service Chiefs, to replace the retired ones.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina confirmed the appointment. He said the President has named the replacements for the sacked service chiefs and the names of the new service chiefs and posts were given as:
Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff
Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff
Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff
Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
President Buhari who welcomed the new service chiefs, also congratulated the outgoing Service Chiefs on their efforts to bring enduring peace to the country.
