A new report on the Zabarmari massacre over the weekend in Jere Local Government of Borno state, suggest that the number of those killed were more than the figures being reported. This claims were made by no other than the leader of the dread Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau.
In a new video released by the Boko Haram sect and posted on social media on Tuesday 1st December 2020, showed a spokesman for Abubakar Shekau claiming responsidbilty for the massacre,and saying that the insurgents killed at least 78 or more during last Saturday’s raid on rice farmers in Zabarmari.
According to him, his men went after the farmers because they handed over a member of the sect to the Nigerian army.
Shekau threatened that the sect members will go after those giving out intelligence on their activities to the military.

The Zabarmari massacre took place at about 11 a.m on Saturday. The farmers were attacked at the Garin-Kwashebe rice field, and initial reports had stated that about 40 to 48 farmers were killed.
The government has since condemned the attack, while Nigerians are calling for the sacking of the Service Chiefs, as killings continue in the northern part of Nigeria.
