BurnaBoy’s Twice As Tall album has been nominated for the Grammys, as he gets the nod for the second time in a roll for the prestigious music award.
The announcement was made on Tuesday 24th November 2020, as his latest work is being appreciated and honoured once more, after his African Giant Album in 2019.
The Twice As Tall album which was produced by Diddy, Bose Ogulu and Burna Boy himself, is a 15 track star-studded album. It had features from Senegalese artist Youssou N’Dour, O.G. trio Naughty By Nature, Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and U.K. rapper Stormzy.
The album was a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2019 album “African Giant” in 2019., which also got a Grammy nomination.
The Burnaboy’s album was released on the 14th of August 2020, and the category which it has been nominated in is the Best Global Music Album category. Those nominated alongside Burnaboy’s Twice As Tall are:

This nomination is not coming as a surprise to many, who have listened to Burnaboy’s last and current album, which he also predicted, alongside Diddy.
Recall that we reported here that the two-time winner of the BET Award for Best International Act, while speaking on the Twice As Tall album shortly after it was released, had said the album is: “a journey through a bunch of emotions and energies at different points in time.
It has now morphed into something bigger than me. It serves as a bridge for mankind to show that we’re all different but still very much the same.”
Also speaking about the album, Diddy had said: “I’m on record that I like hit records. If they’re not hit records, I don’t like them.”
Diddy added that “He (Burna Boy), as every artist, he wants his music to be heard by the world. He doesn’t care about crossing over.
You know, he’s not trying to get hot. He’s not, like, ‘I want to be a big pop star’ — he’s already a star. He wants his music to be heard, his message, his people,” he had said.
Burna narrowly lost to Angélique Kidjo last year, when everybody thought he should have won, and he got alot of stick for not winning, especially from rival fans. He also sang about it in his new album, and as if the organisers are listening, they are giving him yet another opportunity to take home the award for the first time.
