The Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and his wife, Queen Moronke Naomi have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
The Oba made the announcement on his official Twitter handle on Wednesday 18th November 2020.
In making the announcement, the Oba shared a lovely photo of his wife, Queen Moronke Naomi and himself, with a caption announcing the arrival of the Prince of Ile Ife. He tweeted saying:
“To God be the glory great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Silekunola who today birthed a Prince to the Royal throne of Oduduwa,” he said.
He also said Queen Moronke Naomi and their newborn are doing well: ,“Mother and child are doing well to the glory of God Almighty,” he added.
No date was given as to when the baby arrived, and where the baby was born. But sons and daughters of Oduduwa have been sending in their congratulatory messages to the Oba and their new mum.
His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi had on the 19th October 2019 announced to the world that he had taken a new wife and Queen, after the crashing of his first marriage.
The Ooni of Ife who put some photos of his new Queen, had captioned the photos with these beautiful words:
“I waited patiently upon the Almighty the King of kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials.
Shilekunola, Moronke, Naomi; the greatest Arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rules and regulations in the midst of undiluted tradition, heritage and culture is the “Fear Of God In You”, which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa.

The Ooni of Ife was previously married to Olori Wuraola Zaynab Otiti-Obanor, a marriage which only lasted for just 17-months. The then Queen in confirming the crash of the marriage had released an official statement confirming the breakup, which reads:
“We have got to stop this culture of shaming and vilifying women with false stories of infidelity & nefarious behavior. The spreading of false information (through “sources” afraid to be identified) is the mark of cowards and a cover up for guilty parties to justify their horrific actions. There is absolutely no truth to the media circulated lies of infidelity and infertility- on my end.
What I can confirm, is that the Ooni and I are no more. I inhale love & exhale gratitude. My journey continues as a Humanitarian aiding women and victims of domestic violence & abuse with the United Nations. No matter how much time you’ve invested, no matter the use of media to silence & manipulate, no matter the circumstance, slander, embarrassment, threats and lies: Get out and seek immediate help!
We’ve seen this movie before. Women being dragged in the press & blamed for everything under the sun. This behavior is unacceptable. I urge those involved to be mindful of their actions for the eyes of our Almighty God are always watching. The seeds of slander is a cancer that harvests to eat away the souls of the planter.
The throne is sacred and the attempts to tarnish the name of a Queen, in defense or on behalf of a silent King makes all involved look terrible. Remain dignified in all you do.
