Europa League specialists, Sevilla have done it again, as the La Liga side on Sunday, qualified for yet another Europa League finals, after beating Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s led side, 1-2.
The game had everything, as both teams gave it their all, but Sevilla unlike Manchester United which wasted too many chances on goal, were more clinical in front of goal and tactically superior to their counterpart from England.
Sevilla took the few chances they had in the game, while Manchester United with all the shots on targets, could only manage one goal, which was a penalty early in the first half of the game.
Most of the chances for Manchester United, fell for Anthony Martial, who missed a succession of chances early in the second half, but all credits to Sevilla goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou who was solid at the back to deny United.
Bruno Fernandes had opened the scoring in the 22nd of the first half, with a penalty, after Marcus Rashford was fouled by Diego Carlos.
Sevilla, equalised before the interval when former Liverpool forward Suso swept a finish past David de Gea at the far post.
The Spanish team scored their second goal and the winning goal, after Luuk de Jong swept home a cross from Jesus Navas beating David de Gea and poor United defence to hand Sevilla a well deserved victory on the night.
Sevilla with their win tonight to qualify for the Europa League finals, saw them beating two English teams in the Quarterfinals and semi-finals to reach the Europa League finals.
