Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry have ditched Los Angeles as they are reported to be looking at Santa Barbara as a possible new location for their new home, which is very close to their friend’s, Oprah Winfrey.
The news is coming a few hours after it was reported that they have moved out of Tyler Perry’s $18 Million estates in Hollywood Hills home, which they rented, with the help of Oprah Winfrey. The had to move after paparazzi descended on the house and photographed their every move.
The couple filed a lawsuit against the agencies claiming someone had flown a drown over their home and shot photos of their baby Archie in the private yard.
The ex-Royal couple who before now, were living in Canada, are said to have purchased a home in Montecito, CA, a small area in Santa Barbara County, which is a few hour’s drive north of Los Angeles.
The Santa Barbara county area is where the likes of Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Drew Barrymore, and Rob Lowe, all who are friends to the ex-royal couple, have their homes.
Media reports in the United Kingdom said the couple splashed down around $10 Million for their first home together. It’s a big deal, considering the couple is trying to maintain their financial freedom from the Royal family back in England. Plus, for the money, they were able to get a much bigger property than if they were back in L.A.
“This is the first home either of them has ever owned. It has been a very special time for them as a couple and as a family, to have complete privacy for six weeks since they moved in,” a source told Page Six
Adding, “This is where they want to bring Archie up, where they hope he can have as normal a life as possible.”
Santa Barbara seems to be a save heaven for the couple, as the neighborhood is gated and it’s much harder to navigate the area. Also, most properties have a lot more land, so it gives an ability to have security keep the perimeter secure.
