Atletico Madrid are demanding that the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United who have been rumoured to be interested in their goalkeeper, Jan Oblak to be prepared to pay his full buy out clause, which is pegged at £103million.
According to the report by Dailymail, Jan Oblak is said to have hinted that he would like to move to a bigger club, and a newer challenge away from Atletico, where he is believed to be unsettled.
The 27-year old, regarded by many as one of the top three goalkeepers in the world, is understood to have grown unhappy at some of the decisions and direction taken by Atletico’s sporting director Andrea Berta, Dailymail reports.
Given the recent drop in form of Kepa at Chelsea, and his compatriot at Manchester United, David Degea, Jan Oblak is said to be hoping for a move to the English Premier League, as clearly, big clubs outside of Spain are closely monitoring his situation.
United have Dean Henderson to rival Degea for the number one spot at Manchester United, Chelsea lack a solid backing for Kepa, and with the way they have been signing players, it will not be shocking if one of these days, they announce that they have signed the Atletico Madrid man. The club could also offset Oblak’s fee by using Kepa as a makeweight, or just stick with their £71million signing Kepa Arrizabalaga, who also intends to stay and fight for his place.
Chelsea have been bold in their recruitment so far this year with Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner signed and talks taking place with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz.
