English Premier League defender, and Spurs star, Serge Aurier is not in a good place right now, as reports have it that his younger brother, Christopher Aurier was shot and killed outside of a nightclub in France.
According to reports from France, the sad incident happened on Monday at about 5am just outside of a nightclub in Toulouse.
Christopher Aurier 26, was confirmed dead on the spot, from his gunshot wounds, according to Le Point and Europe 1.
According to the reports from France and Dailymail, Christopher Aurier was said to be ‘known to police for small crimes’, and his killers are still on the run.
Although no motive has been established by the police, who are still investigating the shooting, Christopher Aurier was said to have been arrested in 2017, on suspicion of attacking a prostitute in Lille in northern France.
Local residents called the police after finding a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his stomach outside Kin’s nightclub.
The victim’s brother, Serge who was in action against Arsenal where they won 2-1 in the north London derby, is yet to make an official statement as regarding the shooting. His club, Spurs released a statement a short while ago where they said:
‘The Club is deeply saddened to confirm media reports that Serge Aurier’s brother passed away in the early hours of this morning.
‘Everybody at the Club sends their sincerest condolences to Serge and his family. Our thoughts are with them all.’
Christopher was also a footballer, in the French fifth division with Toulouse Rodeo. He had a trial with Championship side Brentford back in 2011 but was not signed.
Like Serge, he came through the ranks at RC Lens but did not make the breakthrough to the highest level.
