Charlie Daniels and ‘Devil Went Down To Georgia’ singer has died, after suffering from a stroke, his publicist had confirmed the sad news on Monday. he statement said the legendary fiddler passed away at the age of 83.
Charlie Daniels was hospitalized in Hermitage, Tennesse after doctors said he suffered a stroke, which the singer had suffered from previously in January of 2010.
In 2013, Charlie Daniels had a heart pacemaker implanted but actually continued to perform his hits on stage.
Charlie Daniels, a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame is best known for his fiery fiddling song, ‘Devil Went Down To Georgia’ which topped the charts in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and his son Charlie Daniels, Jr.

In 1974, Daniels launched the first ‘Volunteer Jam’ a semi-annual concert that has continued since that day. He joined the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and was inducted to the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2016.
The Nashville Predators issued a statement on the passing of the country legend, who was known to play at the NHL’s team games, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of Charlie Daniels. Charlie was a proud supporter of the Nashville Predators and we are so grateful for his love over the years.”
It continued, “Our hearts are with his wife Hazel, his loved ones, and the country music community.”
