Buhari Approves Re-Opening Of Schools For Graduating Students

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-opening of schools across the country. This approval is only for students in graduating classes, which are those in Primary 6, JSS3 and SSS3, to allow them to prepare for examinations.

The re-opening of schools for graduating students by President Muhammadu Buhari according to the Presidency, was based on recommendations by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19. 

Aside from the re-opening of schools for graduating students the Federal Government has also lifted the interstate lockdown with effect from July 1st, 2020. (movement only outside curfew hours).

The statement on Monday 29th June 2020, by the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Sani Aliyu, stated this in Abuja on Monday also stated that all primary schools and daycare centres across the nation are to remain closed.

 He said:

“All daycares and primary schools to remain closed till further evaluation,” he added.
