The ruling party of the All Progressive Congress (APC) have appointed the Governor of Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni as the chairman of a caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention of the party.
The appointment of Governor Mai Mala Buni as caretaker committee and an extraordinary national convention chairman was made known by the Presidency, a few minutes after the conclusion of the APC National Executive Council meeting.
The APC NEC meeting ended with the dissolution of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the emergence of a new Caretaker Committee with Governor Mai Mala Buni as chairman. A National Convention within six months.
We had reported a few hours ago, that following a recommendation from President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday 25th June 2020, the APC National Working Committee (NWC) was dissolved.
The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media, Bashir Ahmad made this known a few minutes ago on his official Twitter handle. He said:
“Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved,” he had tweeted.
No further details were given, as the battle for the APC National, Acting Chairman continues.
