Mrs Rebekah Vardy, has launched a lawsuit against Coleen Rooney, after she publicly dragged her for allegedly leaking false stories about her and family to the press last year October.
Coleen Rooney who is the 34-year-old wife of former Manchester United Player, Wayne Rooney, made the allegation in an Instagram post, against Mrs Rebekah Vardy who also is a WAG, and the wife of Leicester City striker, Vardy.
The allegation which was made when Mrs Rebekah Vardy was heavily pregnant, has seen her slamming a lawsuit alleging that Coleen libelled or slandered her by accusing her on social media.
The Court documents show that Vardy filed a claim for defamation – libel and slander on 12 June, issued in the media and communications list
A source told The Sun: ‘It’s not about money. As far as Becky is concerned, she wants her costs and vindication. ‘But since Coleen still refuses to agree to an apology, she’s gone ahead with filing the paperwork at the High Court.
‘It’s a very expensive thing to do and the expectation is costs could run towards half a million pounds for each side but she’s completely determined to clear her name at any cost.’ Coleen and Rebekah reportedly attempted mediation with their legal advisers over video call to try and avoid a court battle
However, the arbitration hearing was not successful, and efforts at a resolution between the two WAGs failed. It is said that the High Court battle could cost both sides £500,000 in costs.
It was claimed earlier this month that Rooney sacked her legal team, and that she is ‘planning to fork out big time and hire a very expensive London legal team who are specialists in media and privacy work’.
