The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 667 new cases of the novel coronavirus, as the number of confirmed new cases reported in the country so far reaches 19,147.
NCDC in its daily update on Friday 19th June 2020, reported that the 667 new cases recorded had Lagos state with the highest number of positive cases.
The reports showed Lagos with the highest daily numbers with 281 new positive cases from the 667 new cases reported by the specialist centre on Friday. This is an increment from what was reported only yesterday, taking the total confirmed cases in the state as at Friday to 8177 cases.
The NCDC put the national tally at 19,147 and the total number of discharged patients at 6,581 and death toll at 487, as at Friday 19th June 2020.
The 667 new cases were recorded in 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The distribution of these numbers, shows the following:
