NCDC Confirms 663 New Cases, As Total Now 13,462

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 663 new cases of the novel coronavirus, which is the highest recorded cases in a single day since the outbreak of the virus in the country.

NCDC in its daily update on its official Twitter handle, said on Tuesday 9th June 2020, that the 663 new cases recorded had Lagos and Ogun state with the highest number of positive cases. The reports showed that while Lagos had 170 positive new cases, Ogun state recorded 108 new cases from the 663 new cases reported by the specialist centre on Tuesday.

The NCDC put the national tally at 13,462, and the total number of discharged patients at 4206 and death toll at 365, as at Tuesday 9th June 2020.

The 663 new cases were recorded in 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The distribution of these numbers, shows the following:
