Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has revealed the title of her long-awaited new album, as she prepares to give her fans some nice tunes and something to sing and dance to.

Tiwa Savage unveiled the title of her new album as ‘Celia’ where she also revealed that she is working together with Motown Records on the new album, which will be her 4th.

She made a post on her social media handle on Thursday 7th May 2020, to make the announcement to millions of her social media followers.

This will be Tiwa Savage’s 4th studio album and her first album under her new record, since leaving Mavin Records for American based Music Record Label, Universal Music Group.

She spent seven years with Don Jazzy’s Mavin where she released studio albums like Once Upon a Time (2013), R.E.D (2015), My World (2016) and Compilation albums and EPs: Solar Plexus (2012), Godless America Mixtape, Vol. 3 and Sugarcane EP (2017).

Her first project under her new record label was the single, 49-99, which dropped in 2019.

Tiwa Savage had revealed then in Lagos listening party for 49-99 that she would release her album in the first quarter or second quarter of 2020, so it is not a thing of surprise that she has unveiled the title of the new album.

Although no confirmation as regarding features and track list on the new album, rumour has it that the yet to be released new album has the likes of Rexxie, Naira Marley, Mayorkun, Wizkid and possibly some foreign acts from her record label.

In case you are wondering what the name Celia represents, it is a Latin word which is from Caelia, a feminine form of the Roman clan name Caelius, meaning heavenly. But we have to wait for Tiwa Savage to give us her own meaning, and why she decided on the name ‘Celia’, which is also the album title of Angelique Kidjo’s latest work, where she paid tribute to Americas, and celebrated salsa singer Celia Cruz.
