The number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria hit 323 from just 318 last night, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday 12th April 2020, confirmed five new additional cases across some states in Nigeria.
The NCDC in their daily updates of the coronavirus cases in Nigeria, a few hours ago at about 9:10 pm on Sunday, reported that five new cases have been recorded, and they are 2 in Lagos, 2 in Kwara, and 1 in Katsina. With this, the total number of coronavirus confirmed cases in Nigeria hit 323. It also shows that a total of 85 patients have been discharged, with Lagos State topping the list of those infected and discharged, with a total of 10 deaths recorded so far.
The statement from the NCDC on the latest update about COVID-19 in Nigeria reads:
“Five new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 2 in Lagos 2 in Kwara 1 in Katsina As at 09:10 pm 12th April there are 323 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged with 10 deaths There are 19 states with confirmed cases in Nigeria,”.
Early today, the Lagos State Government which has the highest number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria, confirmed that about five patients were discharged from their Isolation facilities, where the Governor made a post saying:
“Dear Lagosians,
In the spirit of thanksgiving, and as we commemorate the sacrifice of Love and resurrection of Christ this Easter, I bring to you more awesome news from our Isolation facilities.
Today, 5 more patients; 4 females, and 1 male have been discharged to reunite with their families and society.
The patients were discharged having recovered fully and tested negative twice consecutively to COVID-19.
With the newly discharged patients, we now have a total of 55 people that have been successfully managed for COVID-19 at our isolation facilities and discharged to the community.
This news, especially on this important day gives me joy and I am sure it does to you too.
