Davido Goes Into Self-Isolation As His Fiancé Chioma Is Quarantined

Davido has confirmed that his fiancé and mother of his son, Chioma has tested positive to the coronavirus, and has been quarantined. This comes a few days, after she and their son returned from London.

The singer who also recently returned to Nigeria after cancelling his tour in America, said none of them is showing any symptoms of the virus, after confirming the status of his fiancé, but said he has decided to go into self-isolation for 14-days.

Taking to his social media on Friday 27th March, he said:

“Hey everyone! I came back recently from America after canceling the tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby.

“We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history, we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March,” he said.

 

He continued by saying:

“Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby.

“We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever.

“She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self-isolation for the minimum 14 days.

Davido stating further thanked his fans for the show of support while urging them to adhere to directives from the government and health officials, by staying at home so to control the spread of the virus. He said:

“I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as everyone to please stay at home as we control the spread of this virus! Together we can beat this! Love, D,” he added.

Chioma joins a long list of Nigerians that have tested positive to coronavirus after the first index case was identified on February 27.
