American rapper, Meek Mill has reacted to the latest arrest of Kenneth Petty, who is the husband to his ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj.
The rapper who has gone back and forth with Nicki Minaj on a Twitter rampage some weeks back, where Minaj accused him of domestic violence and Meek saying, “The only way you can try to kill my career is to say I beat women…you want me to crash with ya boyfriend and I won’t,” he is now and surprisingly so, showing support to Kenneth Petty over his arrest.
Taking to his Twitter on Wednesday, Meek Mill put out a tweet saying even though they have not so good history, after they ran into each other over Grammy’s weekend and had a shouting match inside of a clothing store, he is not happy Nicki’s new man was arrested.
“You won’t never see me liking something about somebody catching a case I just wouldn’t say nothing! End of that,” Meek just tweeted
Nicki’s husband was arrested earlier today after failing to register in the state of California as a sex offender. Kenneth Petty was convicted of a sex crime in New York in the 1990s and is forced to register on the offender’s list. At the time, he served four years in NY state prison for first-degree attempted rape.
But, if he moves state to state…(which he did to Los Angeles) he has to check in with the local jurisdiction on their list and update his address.
According to the feds, he failed to check in when he moved to Los Angeles and now if facing new charges. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
Petty appeared in court earlier today and pled not guilty to the charges. Prosecutors wanted him to be placed on house arrest, but instead, he will have to wear an ankle monitor.
He is currently in custody but will be able to post his $100,000 bond tonight and get released. Petty has surrendered his passport and will be restricted to travel inside of Southern California.
Interestingly, Petty is barred from using any sort of drugs, including legal marijuana which can be purchased at dispensaries California.
Kenneth will be back in court later this month. So far, Nicki has not weighed in on the situation, but she probably appreciates Meek’s position on the issue.
