Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja has convicted the former Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Olisa Metuh who was prosecuted by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to the statement released by the anti-graft agency on the conviction of Mr Olisa Metuh, the Commission said the Judge found him guilty of committing Money Laundering offence for being in possession of the sum of N400, 000, 000 (Four Hundred Million Naira).
The judge said the prosecution proved the case of Money laundering against Metuh for taking N400million from his Diamond Bank account.
Mr Olisa Metuh along with Destra Investment Limited was being prosecuted by the anti-graft agency for receiving the money from the Office of the National Security Adviser, ONSA, under then Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).
Mr Olisa Metuh counsel was led by Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN, Emeka Etiaba, SAN.
No official statement from them yet, as EFCC celebrate yet another conviction of a top Nigerian politician for fraud.
