Hollywood legendary director, and filmmaker, Spike Lee has once again, paid a special tribute to NBA legend, Kobe Bryant at the Oscars as he was spotted in a colourful purple-and-gold Gucci suit marked with the late basketball star’s jersey number, 24.
Spike Lee stepping onto the Red Carpet at the Hollywood’s Dolby Theater on Sunday award night, shared with the world his outfit which was embroidered with “24” on his back and across his lapel, while his custom outfit’s colours nodded to the LA Lakers, where Bryant spent his entire professional career.
Lee completed his look with a purple hat, glasses and a pair of Nike Kobe 9 Elite “Strategy” sneakers, one of the many designs to emerge from Bryant’s long-standing collaboration with the brand.
The glowing tribute from Spike Lee is coming a few weeks after the tragic death of the former Los Angeles Lakers star in a helicopter accident killed the former player, his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant and seven others.
The is coming from a close friend and business partner, as Lee was the director of “Kobe Doin’ Work,” which was a 2009 documentary following a whole day in his life. He is still mourning the death of the NBA legend.
