The Supreme Court on Tuesday 13th January 2020 declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Hope Uzodinma as the winner of the 2019 Imo State Governorship election.
The Supreme Court declared that Senator Hope Uzodinma be sworn in immediately, while Hon Emeka Ihedioha be removed as the Governor.
Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun and other six Justices were unanimous that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was wrong to have excluded some votes from the scores of Hope Uzodinma, when he actually scored the highest votes in the election.
