Hollywood Actor Chris Hemsworth and his family are pledging to donate the sum of $1million to help fight the devastating Australian wildfire.
Chris Hemsworth is the latest celebrity to be giving financial assistant to help fight the fire that has destroyed an area the size of South Korea and over 500 million wildlife killed so far by the bush-fire.
The Australian actor who recently paid a visit to Australia before the deadly fire, took to his social media on Tuesday posting a short clip where he announced that he will be donating the sum as a relief to victims of the wildfire.
Hemsworth added: “Beyond appreciative to everyone around the world for their well wishes and donations. It really does make a difference, so dig deep! Love ya.”
The fires have been raging since September, killing at least 24 people and rendering thousands of others homeless. New South Wales, in the southeast of Australia, has been hardest hit by the fires.
Many other stars have used social media to encourage their followers to help, including Hugh Jackman, Nick Kroll, Kerry Washington, Ellen DeGeneres, Selena Gomez, and singer-songwriter Charli XCX, even Pink donated $500,000 to fire fighters in Australia.
