Pink has taken to her Instagram page to make a personal pledge to help victims of the Australia wildfires, as she makes a donation of $500,000 to local fire services to help fight the deadly wildfires.
The American pop star taking to her Instagram page on Saturday 4th January 2020 a few days after Chris Brown also made a post about the deadly wildfires, said:
“I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires,”
“I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz.”
The death toll in the wildfire crisis is now up to 23 people. The fires are expected to be particularly fierce throughout the weekend.
The wildfires, which have been raging since September, have already burned about 5 million hectares (12.35 million acres) of land and destroyed more than 1,500 homes, the Associated Press reports.
Pink is just one out of hundreds of celebrities that have created awareness about the deadly wildfires, and she is not just creating the awareness and donating funds, she is also calling on others to make financial contributions to help the people of Australia.
