The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Adewale Akanbi maintains his innocence after some unnamed persons accused him of being behind his marital issues with Queen Chanel, now ex-queen of Iwoland.
Oba Adewale Akanbi who had on the 15th December 2019, shocked fans and his followers, when he said his marriage with Queen Chanel has crashed, and that her crown as the Queen of Iwoland has been withdrawn, released a strong statement on Sunday 29th December 2019, where he denied the allegation of any wrongdoing in his marriage, while also cursing those trying to tarnish his name regarding the failed union with Chanel.
“To whom it may concern” he started with this heading.
“All those who are judging Oluwo of Iwoland Oba Adewale Akanbi regarding his marital issues now, I have this to say to you…. if I ever did evil or show anything other than love in this my immediate past union, let God Almighty judge me and put the curse on my head and remove the crown from me but if I’m righteous enough in this marriage, may God let me reign for long and always overcome all adversaries and calamities that may come my way,” he said.
He went further to place a curse on whoever was responsible for the breakup of the marriage, and who did the other party wrong, saying:
“May evil befall the one that did evil to each other in the marriage Amen,” he said.
Oba Adewale Akanbi who has never been shy to share loved up photos of himself and wife during their marriage, and also share lovely birthday messages to celebrate her on her birthday, also cursed those spreading fake news that he was to blame for his failed marriage with Chanel. He said:
“To all who choose to judge without knowing the truth, I forgive you and may God forgive you too but from this moment on, if you judge me without knowing the truth, may the evil that was perpetrated against me be done to you and may your children experience what I went through in this past relationship of mine. AMEN!!! I came out alive and victorious by the grace and power of God Almighty because I’m a special breed by God Almighty.
I came in peace and love to all humanity thank you and God bless you all abundantly pelu Ashe Oba Kan soso tounje kabio kosi” he said.
Although we are yet to hear from ex-Queen Chanel, here was the birthday message shared by Oba Adewale Akanbi to his then wife, Chanel on her birthday:
“Happy Birthday To The Most Beautiful Queen in the whole wide world !!! to my darling wife, A strong woman of virtue, loving, caring, quintessential, beautifully made by the Creator !! May you live in good health and wealth to enjoy the fruit of your labour …. what she endures for me is so enormous, when the whole world did not understand me …. she stood firm and believes in me, lots to say but I say ” Thank you very much for everything my honey bunnie” Queen Chanel” he had said then.
Queen Chanel is an American, who was born and raised in Canada and has a British mother and a Jamaican father.
She came to love Nigerian culture after making friends with some Nigerians in Canada while growing up, and ever since, she has grown to love Nigeria as her home. But all her rights and crown as the Queen of Iwoland was taken away from her officially on the 15th December 2019 by the Oba.
The Oba in a statement released by one Alli Ibraheem, who is the CPS to Oluwo announcing the split, had said:
“Ms Chanel Chin is an Ex-Queen of Oluwo
This is to inform the general public most especially friends and associates of the Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, that Ms Chanel Chin is an ex-queen of his majesty.
This information is necessary for the attention of the general public to avoid representation on proxy or accordance of respect attached to the sacred stool of Oluwo to her. For personal irreconcilable differences, Chanel Chin ceased to be his Majesty’s queen. We equally enjoin the public to disregard any business transaction or request with her using the office of his majesty.
We wish her the best in her new journey”, the statement said.
