The House of Representatives member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency, Hon Shina Peller has released a short statement thanking Nigerians on his arrest and the shutting down of his clubhouse by Police officers from the Moroko Police station, Lagos command.

Hon Shina Peller who is speaking for the first time since his release from police custody on Monday, thanked Nigerians for the outpour of love and support, while also letting them know that he is fine and in good spirit.

“Hello my people, I want to thank everyone for the outpour of love and support over the events that occurred yesterday. I am fine and in good spirits” he said.

Hon Shina Peller in his short statement he posted on his Instagram page on Tuesday 24th December 2019, promised to share with Nigerians what actually happened, but said the situation that led to his arrest and the shutting down of his club, Quilox, is been addressed at the appropriate level. He also said he is leaving to his constituency in Oyo State to celebrate the Christmas holiday with his family and constituents.

Currently heading to iseyin to spend Xmas with my constituents.
All issues are being addressed at the appropriate level and I will release a formal statement in due course.”

Recall that we reported here that the popular clubhouse in Lagos, Quilox was sealed by the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency over Noise Pollution and Traffic Congestion in V.I, and the owner Hon Shina Peller arrested while trying to effect the bail of his staffs/customers arrested by the police.

The report stated that the lawmaker was at Moroko police station to bail some of Club Quilox’s customers who had allegedly parked on the road during a show at the Club.

According to his media aide, before the kickoff of the 36-hour non-stop show which usually holds every year at Quilox, Hon. Peller had informed the concerned Lagos traffic authorities to avoid unnecessary traffic gridlock.

However, on getting to Moroko police station, the police detained Hon. Peller and seized all his phones.
The Police in reacting to the arrest also issued a statement addressing why Hon Shina Peller was arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana who issued the statement on Monday 23rd December 2019, said:

The honourable is the owner of that club and his customers are fond of parking on the road and blocking the road. If you want to pass that place, you will have tough times.

Up till 9 am, the club was still on. They refused to remove their vehicles and Lagosians were seriously disturbed. Even Mr Governor was affected this morning. He had to manoeuvre his way through it.

This man had been talked to many times, but he refused to listen. This morning, our patrol vehicles towed three vehicles out of that place so that people could pass.

This honourable mobilised over 50 thugs to attack Maroko Police Station to move those vehicles out. We had to send reinforcement from neighbouring stations before they were able to curtail the situation.

That was how he was arrested with five of the thugs, while others escaped. We had to exercise a lot of restraints. They have been moved to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, where they are being investigated.
