President Muhammadu Buhari and his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari, are marking their 30th wedding anniversary, as the first family of Nigeria took to their social media accounts to share a throwback of some family photos to celebrate the day.
President Muhammadu Buhari and Mrs Aisha Buhari are marking their 30th anniversary as one of the oldest couples in the Presidency, just a few weeks after Vice President Osinbajo and his wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo also celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary and as the oldest couple in the Presidency.
The President in celebrating the day, shared some photos of his family, with this caption:
“Today, on our 30th Wedding Anniversary, I pray for Allah’s continued peace and blessings in our home and family”.
The Buharis married on this day, 2nd November 1989, and her blessed with five children. Mrs Aisha was just 18 and the then ex-military head of state, and now President Muhammadu Buhari was 47-years-old when they got married.
President Muhammadu Buhari first became Military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power from a civilian government through a military coup d’état. He was then elected President of Nigeria in 2015 after numerous failed attempts. He also won re-election in 2019, defeating the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
