Princess Beatrice and boyfriend Edoardo announce their engagement

Princess Beatrice who is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York, and her millionaire boyfriend, Edoardo have announced their engagement.

The Royal family on Thursday 26th September 2019 made a post on their official engagement with pictures on Instagram. The statement said:

‘We are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. ‘Her Royal Highness and Mr Mapelli Mozzi became engaged in Italy earlier this month.’ The photos were taken by Beatrice’s sister Eugenie, they said. Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring was designed by Edoardo in collaboration with the British jewellery designer Shaun Leane.⁣

In a statement, the couple said: ‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. ‘We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. ‘We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.’

Princess Eugenie posted another photo of the couple to her Instagram page, and said: ‘Beabea – wow! I’m so happy for you my dearest big sissy and dear Edo. ‘It’s been a long time coming and you two are meant to be.’

The Duke and Duchess of York said in a statement: ‘We are thrilled that Beatrice and Edoardo have got engaged, having watched their relationship develop with pride. ‘We are the lucky parents of a wonderful daughter who has found her love and companion in a completely devoted friend and loyal young man. ‘We send them every good wish for a wonderful family future.’ ⁣

Edoardo’s parents, Nikki Williams-Ellis and Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, said: ‘We are truly delighted about Edoardo’s and Beatrice’s engagement. ‘The family have known Beatrice for most of her life. Edo and Beatrice are made for each other, and their happiness and love for each other is there for all to see. ‘They share an incredibly strong and united bond, their marriage will only strengthen what is already a wonderful relationship.’

Princess Beatrice is following in the footsteps of her younger sister Eugenie by getting married. Eugenie held a glittering, star-studded wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in October 2018. The ceremony, which was attended by 800 guests, was televised and Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank enjoyed a carriage ride through Windsor afterwards. They continued their celebrations with a weekend of festivities at the nearby York family home Royal Lodge.
