Mo Abudu honoured yet again as one of the reformers of Africa, as she has continuously promoted the African culture and her people through her media content. The woman who has received countless awards for her media work, over the weekend, collected another award for her media and Television work which promotes the culture and people of Africa, but most importantly, for her philanthropic work in Nigeria and Africa in general.
Mo Abudu no doubt since she started her “Moments with Mo” and went on to establish her multi-billion naira television, Ebonylife in 2013, has created a state-of-the-art media centre or house for Nigerians and Africans, and her venture into film productions such as the Wedding Party, and others, clearly put her head and shoulders above others, and all these awards coming her way, are definitely in other.
A few weeks back, Mo Abudu was in France alongside other world’s top media executive producers for the Medaille d’ Honneur award at the Cannes Film Festival in France, where she was honoured with the prestigious MIPTV Médailles d’Honneur which is an award awarded to senior executives who have, through their talent, leadership and passion, made a significant contribution to the world of television and the development of the international TV community.
In her profiling for the 2019 Cannes award, Mo Abudu who is the CEO of EbonyLife Media was described as a successful woman who has been ranked by Forbes as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman”. One of the most prolific producers in Africa, Abudu launched Nigerian broadcaster and producer EbonyLife TV in 2013, producing over 1,000 hours of original programming each year.
The organisers of the Reformers Arise Summit clearly are in order to have presented Mo Abudu the award of Reformers of Africa Arising Awards, as she has done Nigeria and Africa proud since she ventured into the media and entertainment world.
Mo Abudu Taking to her Instagram page on Monday shared her award with her fans and captioned it with these few words of appreciation:
“What an incredible way to start the month. On Saturday, 1st June, I was pleasantly surprised with being the 1st recipient of The Reformers of Africa Arising Award at the Reformers Arise Summit. My dear friend Alero Ayida-Otobo had asked me to come and present an award, only to get there and be a recipient. Dear Alero, thank you so much for honouring me with this Award. The Summit defines a reformer as someone full of creative energy and passion, who wants to see change and are willing to be the instigator of that change.
