A few weeks ago, fans of the HBO hit series ‘Game of Thrones’ could not hide their excitement when the announcement was made that the much awaited final season was to premiere, after waiting for months. That announcement itself from HBO gathered a lot of streams as it trended on social media for days. But having seen some episodes, some fans seem to have taken a hard stand on the direction of the series, and how it has been rushed, with the actions of Daenerys in particular.
Since the season 8 started, it has been all excitement and what have you, but things seem to have gone down South, as fans are not happy about how things have turned out for some of the characters, as some are hitting out on how dragons have taken over the whole show.
The fans in their thousands want some of these issues raised to be addressed, as they launch a petition demanding for a remake of the whole final season 8!…customers are always right, right?
The petition was launched at Change.org and over 50,000 signatures have been gathered so far.
“David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on,” the petition states, referring to the two creators of the series.
The fans are frustrated by the alleged misplaced coffee cups, lacklustre storylines and an entire episode that was too dark to watch fans have had enough and are hoping their precious series will get the ending it deserves.
HBO has not yet responded to petition.
While there were some outspoken critics of Season 8 from the start, the negative reception started ramping up after the third episode, “The Long Night.” Viewers complained the episode was lit too poorly, while some thought the clash with the Night King was anticlimactic.
