Davido calls Ruggedman a legend in the Nigerian entertainment industry, as he tries to make peace between him and one Azeez Fashola who is popularly known as Naira-marley, over some Yahoo-Yahoo comments.
Davido haven watched and listen to Instagram posts by Naira-marley and Ruggegedman taking shots at each other, over the whole Yahoo-Yahoo drama, took to his own Instagram page to shares series of videos where he advised the two men to embrace peace.
Davido called on the two men to respect each other, especially Naira-marley, whom he called to respect Ruggedman, as to whether he likes it or not, Ruggedman is a legend. He said Ruggedman was one of those rappers back then he used to listen to, as he inspired the young and upcoming musicians back then.
Davido whilst praising Ruggedman, he called on him to understand that everything they sing about is what goes on in the society, and does not necessarily mean they are fraudsters. But admitted that Naira-marley and himself and other new generation entertainers are young and it will be difficult for them to understand most of the things that are being said by Ruggedman. He said he has learnt his lessons.
Davido calls Ruggedman a legend, as he explains why they need to make peace. He said:
“Yes, what’s up my people…is your boy Davido..this time I am not here to rant and stuff…I have been reading some stuff about Naira-marley and Ruggedman seen it everywhere…all that shit has to stop…”
On Yahoo-Yahoo and why Naira-marley needs to respect Ruggedman, he said:
“Nairamarley you are my brother and I know you personally…We even joked about it online when I commented on nobody holly pass, I was even bashed for that too…I love your music, everybody loves your music anybody telling you that your music is not popping is talking shit…”
“You are doing your thing…But you have to understand that Nigeria is a very sensitive place as while, whereas we are known worldwide for fraud…so I do understand where Rugged man is coming from, Ruggedman, Baba Legend of our time, I grew up listening to you…I think we have met once or twice… I respect you and I do understand where you are coming from, but at the same time, this country does not give a lot of the youths the opportunity to actually do other things…”
Speaking about his past mistakes and how Ruggedman needs to understand that the young ones will always make mistakes, he said:
“I have made a lot of mistakes in my career then and when I look back, I will be like why did what do that back then…So, Rugged man you have to understand that ‘Us’ sef are young…we are singing about the life we are living……I know a lot of people who might not be doing legal jobs and I see them helping people and those with legal jobs are doing nothing to help…it goes both ways…I love both of you…
I am going all over the world, and they are playing our music…not just me, but Wizkid, Burnaboy, Tiwa, YemiAlade, Zlatan, and others…I don’t think this is the time to fight but do other things…”
“Entertainment is one thing that makes us in Africa happy, everybody in Africa happy, so I feel like let’s not get into all that...”he said
