Popular talk show host, Wendy Williams and her now ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, are reportedly negotiating a multi-million dollar settlement in divorce and show exit, as the two take another step at finalizing the end of their over two decades of marriage.
An earlier report has it that Wendy Williams has kicked out Kevin Hunter the executive producer of her daytime talk show. But new reports have it that Hunter will not be walking just like that since he is a co-owner of the show.
The negotiates is a lucrative settlement in the divorce that will also include a severance package for exiting the TV show.
Reports also have it that Hunter is not fighting the decision to end the marriage and will also be leaving as an employee of the show. But he wants to get paid, and a very good payout that could see their divorce drag for long.
Kevin is not only an executive producer on the hit television show, but he’s also one of the owners of Wendy’s production company, which co-produces the show.
Hunter is also willing to leave the show, for now, while he continues negotiations for his mouth watering settlement, which will also take time due to some legal works that need to be done due to the nature of ownership of some of the assets, mostly co-owned by the now estranged couple.
Wendy and Kevin have been together since 1997, and have a son together, but called off their marriage just a few weeks ago.
According to reports, the New Jersey laws could make things very complicated for an easy settlement, as it allows grounds for a fault divorce, which could majorly affect the distribution of property and funds. If Wendy accused Hunter of breaking up the marriage because of cheating and can prove he spent marital funds while committing adultery, it could greatly impact his final settlement.
On the flip side, drug habituation can also be grounds for a fault divorce, so Hunter could accuse Wendy of causing the split due to her ongoing issues with substance abuse. The Blast reports.
