Desperate Housewives actor, Felicity Huffman is now set to plead guilty, as one of 13 parents allegedly involved in college admissions fraud scandal. She released a statement on Monday, taking the blame for the latest exposed college admission scandal that has rocked some of the top colleges in the United States.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Justice, Felicity Huffman was one of the defendants who was charged with “one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud and have agreed to plead guilty pursuant to plea agreements.”

A plea hearing has not yet been scheduled.

Felicity Huffman who has already been charged released a statement on her case that reads:

“I am pleading guilty to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney’s Office.”

She continued, “I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”

The actress was the only one charged, as her husband, William H. Macy was not charged, unlike Lori Loughlin who was charged alongside her husband. Nothing found on William H. Macy to show that he was part of the plan to pay the sum of $15,000 on behalf of the daughter to get extra time in the exam hall, and therefore gain admission to one of the top colleges in the country. The wife already has taken all the blame and the shame brought on herself and her beautiful family.

Felicity Huffman added:

“I am ashamed of the pain I have caused my daughter, my family, my friends, my colleagues and the educational community. I want to apologize to them and, especially, I want to apologize to the students who work hard every day to get into college, and to their parents who make tremendous sacrifices to support their children and do so honestly.

My daughter knew absolutely nothing about my actions, and in my misguided and profoundly wrong way, I have betrayed her. This transgression toward her and the public I will carry for the rest of my life. My desire to help my daughter is no excuse to break the law or engage in dishonesty.”

…more to come…
