Desmond Elliot presented with his Certificate of Return having won re-election to the Lagos State House of Assembly in the just concluded general elections. He was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the Surulere 1 state Constituency election in Lagos State.
Desmond Elliot presented with his Certificate of Return on Friday , after he emerged winner under the All Progressives Congress APC with 15,357 votes, while Mr Benjamin Olasunkanmi, his closest rival and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, came second with 3,628 votes.
The actor turned politician will be returning to the state House of Assembly for the second time after his first experience in 2015.
Desmond Elliot presented with his certificate of return alongside other members of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He put up a photo of himself receiving his certificate and captioned it with these words:
“To Hom be the Glory, Honour, and Adoration. Received my certificate of return.
I’m grateful to Surulere for this privilege. I’m humbled and I assure you that I’ll give my best at representing you. Congratulations to my Rt Hon Speaker @mudashiruobasa and Honourable colleagues. May we together take Lagos to greater heights”
